Grammy 2023: Kim Petras se torna primeira mulher trans a ganhar prêmio

No ano passado, uma das músicas mais bombadas e comentadas foi “Unholly”, lançada por Kim Petras e Sam Smith, que chegou a dominar o topo de diversos rankings do Spotify pelo mundo, sendo a primeira vez que uma mulher trans atingiu tal feito.

Ainda, tal marca foi conquistada novamente pela artista, quando a parceria chegou a vencer o Grammy de “Melhor Performance de Duo/Grupo Pop” pela canção, e na hora do discurso, tal fato foi ressaltado por ela.

“Sam Smith graciosamente quis que eu aceitasse esse prêmio porque sou a primeira mulher transgênero a vencer. E só quero agradecer a todas as incríveis lendas transgênero antes de mim que chutaram essas portas para que eu pudesse estar aqui essa noite”, declarou Kim Petras.

Vale ressaltar que Sam Smith deixou Kim fazer o discurso sozinha, dando espaço para que a marca obtida por ela ganhasse os holofotes. Em 2099, Petras se tornou uma das pessoas mais jovens a passar pela cirurgia de redesignação sexual.

Lembrando que Sam Smith se identifica como não-binário, ou seja, também não é cisgênero (se identifica com o gênero atribuído socialmente no nascimento pelo sexo biológico), tornando a vitória bastante representativa.
