Netflix é ultrapassada por HBO em indicados ao Critics Choice Awards

Na segunda-feira, 6 de dezembro, foi divulgada a lista de indicados ao “Critics Choice Awards 2022”, premiação com objetivo de homenagear as indústrias do cinema e da televisão. Com o lançamento da sua plataforma de streaming, HBO Max, o canal HBO não só liderou o número de indicações, como também saiu na frente da sua grande rival e pioneira no streaming, a Netflix. As séries “Succession” e “Mare of Easttown”, ambas grandes sucessos da HBO, foram as principais responsáveis por manter as indicações do canal lá em cima, já que só a primeira, protagonizada por Brian Cox e Jeremy Strong, conquistou 8 indicações, e a segunda, com a atriz vencedora de Oscar, Kate Winslet, recebeu 5 no total.

Em comunicado oficial, o presidente da Critics Choice Association elogiou o trabalho das plataformas de streaming: “Embora a indústria ainda esteja se recuperando da Covid-19, você não saberia disso pela riqueza de programas de televisão incríveis que nossos comitês de nomeação analisaram para chegar aos indicados deste ano. Temos ainda mais opções do que antes da pandemia para os críticos e espectadores abraçarem. Enquanto os serviços de streaming continuam a abrir novos caminhos com algumas ofertas maravilhosamente inesperadas, tem sido um ano excepcionalmente forte para todas as áreas da televisão”, disse ele.
